testing9 views"bench testing" can be done with a reversible drill and square drive bit that mimics the end of the drive cable. never before (and never again) has my speedometer read 110mph!!! put the drill in forward drive and you can reverse the odometer (albeit very slowly). my lack of functionality seemed to be stemming from a frozen odometer that was making the speedo needle jump all over and go crazy. the clicking noise it was making was driving me mad as well!Mar 12, 2008

disassembled16 viewslots of tiny pieces to loose and break! this thing was never meant to be taken apart, and if it was, it most certainly was not meant to be put back together again afterward. Atlantic British has new assemblies for $199 - I suggest going that route unless you are crazy.Mar 12, 2008

90 percent there13 viewshere it is almost done. rivets were replaced with tiny nuts/bolts and some metal tabs that broke were replaced with multi-strand picture wire. its pretty incredible how this little thing works off of just one spinning cable. on the road the i compared it's accuracy with my gps: the odometer is off by 8.9% which is exactly as it should be due to the oversize tires, the speedo if reading 30% slow so I'll be recalibrating that soon.....Mar 12, 2008
